Born in September 1981 in West Covina, California, Luis Banuelos is a self-taught flamenco fusion guitarist, composer, percussionist, and Broadway-bound artist with nearly 30 years of dedicated mastery—over 50,000 hours of practice and performance. Purposely unsigned to maintain creative freedom and build direct relationships with audiences and venues, Luis operates as LBM Productions LLC, delivering soulful musical experiences centered on flamenco fusion and Latin jazz styles, along with a Spanish classical guitar approach and subtle touches of soul and other influences depending on the moment and how he feels.

The Artist Today

Luis brings passion, precision, and presence to every performance. His sound is sophisticated yet deeply moving: expressive flamenco runs, rich percussive grooves, and intricate Spanish classical guitar styles rooted in flamenco fusion and Latin jazz. For the Broadway-bound musical Picasso in Paris, he composed 12 original pieces, arranged 20 others, and collaborated with fellow composers, writers, and orchestrators over nearly seven years of dedicated work. While he also explores hip-hop and other collaborative projects on the side, his live performances focus on the heartfelt flamenco fusion and Latin jazz that define his signature style.

A longtime favorite in the Austin live music scene for 17 years, Luis stepped away to fully pursue the Broadway composing opportunity. Now that the Picasso in Paris project is nearing completion, he is thrilled to be returning stronger than ever into the live music world as a solo artist. The only time he’ll be expanding is for future Heartstrings collaborations with full orchestra and ballet. Whether performing solo or with select collaborators, Luis creates meaningful moments that connect with listeners on a personal level.

Currently, he holds a beloved Thursday 7–9 PM residency at The Betty Cocktail Lounge in Austin—an elegant steak-night venue where his performances have become a highlight. He’s actively expanding with new residencies in Dallas and surrounding areas while continuing to travel for performances at Napa Vineyards, and in Hollywood Hills, Beverly Hills, Bellaire, New York, Miami, and beyond. He also delivers private estate events, corporate functions, weddings, and special appearances across Texas, California, New York, and other major markets.

He’s very flexible and happy to accommodate requests, though he strongly recommends booking at least 30 days in advance for the smoothest experience—some clients even lock in dates two years out. Shorter notice is sometimes possible but can complicate scheduling, so reaching out early is best.
